Zagora 006 is a meteorite classified as brecciated eucrite of 1380 grams.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

It was discovered near Zagora in Morocco by Ahmed Dich and Hssain Azmamar in January 2021.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The eucrites come from the Asteroid Vesta.<\/p>\n

Find: 2021 Jan<\/p>\n

Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite, brecciated)<\/p>\n

History: Fo<\/strong>und by Ahmed Dich and Hssain Azmamar in January 2021. Bought by Jean Redelsperger from Zaid Oualguirah in February 2021.<\/p>\n

Physical characteristics: Partially crusted sto<\/strong>ne with a light grey interior<\/p>\n

Petrography: (J.<\/strong> Gattacceca, CEREGE) Brecciated igneous rock with mine<\/i>ral and lithic gabbroic clasts. Main minerals are pyroxene (some exsolved) and plagioclase with grain size in the 100 to 500 \u00b5m range. Accessory minerals: metal (to 150 \u00b5m), chromite (to 100 \u00b5m), ilmenite (to 150 \u00b5m), troilite (to 200 \u00b5m).<\/p>\n

Geochemistry<\/strong>: Low-Ca pyroxene Fs50.7<\/sub>Wo3.8<\/sub>, Fs48.5<\/sub>Wo6.4. <\/sub>Ca-pyroxene Fs38.8<\/sub>Wo20.5<\/sub>, Fs23.0<\/sub>Wo41.3<\/sub>, Fs23.3<\/sub>Wo41.4. <\/sub>Pyroxene FeO\/MnO 31.8\u00b11.4 (n=5). Plagioclase An92.5<\/sub>Ab7.3<\/sub>Or0.2<\/sub>, An80.2<\/sub>Ab18.8<\/sub>Or0.9.<\/sub><\/p>\n
