Laayoune 002 is a very beautiful lunar meteorite discovered in the Western Sahara in 2022.

Space missions (such as Apollo or Luna) have brought back samples from very specific and limited geographic areas. Meteorites such as Laâyoune 002 come from areas that may never have been explored by humans, particularly the dark side of the Moon.

About fifteen years ago, lunar meteorites were sold for almost 1000 euros per gram !
